It is envisaged that the church building would be used in mid-week for activities which will include church run projects such as: mums and tots; youth and children’s clubs; lunch and keep fit for older people; counselling and advice centre; community events. The community will also be invited to use the facilities for groups such as scouts and guides, and to run other projects, children’s and young people’s groups, skills training, events, conferences, etc.
The building will include a Café run on a non-profit basis available for everyone in the community. This will be available to serve as a drop-in centre.
Through our partnerships and having a building which we share with other users we see the following benefits:
The north-west of Wellingborough has developed significantly over the last 20 years, but without the provision of a building for the faith needs of the local community. With existing local buildings (i.e. Redwell Junior School and Gleneagles Social Club) no longer big enough to meet the needs for Gleneagles Church activities we have to plan ahead for the needs of both church and community.
